This wedding was incredible! The location was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the people were extraordinary. To think that we got the privilege of photographing this wedding because of a simple Instagram comment is rather crazy to think about.

Jon and Marissa live in Utah so we were forced to communicate via e-mail and Skype for most of the wedding planning. They seemed like nice people online, but we learned on their wedding day that they’re one of the most delightful couples we’ve ever met – so genuine, so fun, and so in love.

They got married in Port Gamble, WA at a small church that was built in 1879 and Jon’s father officiated the ceremony. As the day progressed, we met more and more of their friends and family, and it became clear that wonderful people seem to attract other wonderful people. Or perhaps wonderful people just help other people become more wonderful themselves. It’s hard to know for sure.

By the end of the day, we were genuinely sad that we’re separated by 700+ miles, but most everybody said they loved western Washington enough to come back some day so perhaps we’ll meet up again down the road. ;)
