Fuller Wedding
Thornewood Castle is on a short list of venues that every professional photographer in Washington wants to shoot at. It has uncommon charm and personality, but its grand architecture and dim ambiance pose all sorts of technical challenges. When Paul and Rebecca told us that they were getting married there, we were excited by the possibilities. The weather ended up being beautiful on their wedding day so the ceremony took place in the rose garden and the reception took place in the ballroom and the great hall.
Paul and Rebecca each have children from previous relationships and it was really neat to see how they participated in the wedding. Her youngest son was the ring-bearer and his daughter was the flower girl. Her daughter was the maid of honor and her oldest son raised her veil at the alter. His father is a pastor and he officiated the ceremony, which only added to the familial nature of this wedding.
We have many great memories from this day – her charming father, the epic dancing, their sparkler exit – so we really appreciate being invited to photograph everything.
Congratulations to Paul and Rebecca – your wedding was beautiful, just like you and your families.
