Field of Dreams 2018
If you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen a recent post from Safeco Field about how photography has led to some amazing opportunities for us. We would like to share one of those stories here and tell you about an organization that we are proud to be connected with.
Medical Teams International provides humanitarian relief to people in need. They specialize in crisis response, whether it be natural disasters or civil conflicts, and they send medical aid to some of the neediest regions in the world. We have known about their work for a number of years and we are proud to be able to support their mission.
MTI’s biggest fundraising event each year is the Field of Dreams and it takes place at Safeco Field in Seattle, WA. We had an opportunity to photograph this year’s event and we were blown away, as always, by the generosity of the people in our community.
The best part of the evening was listening the main speaker, a man named Julius, who is a survivor of the Rwandan genocide. Julius fled to Uganda as a refugee, where he received aid from MTI. Eventually, he was able to go to school and he is now a computer engineer working on a medical database that helps other refugees in Uganda. It was an incredibly moving story that received a standing ovation from the audience.
